Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon VGC 2018 Baek to Baek Battles – Episode 24: What the heck is this?

Welcome to another episode of VGC 18 Baek to Baek Battles, a VGC Battle Spot Series as I go on the Championship Battle Spot Ladder and play some games. The goal of the series is to try out new Pokemon, new strategies and learn as we battle one battle at a time towards the end of the season and the VGC 2018 World Championship!

This week features a brand new team inspired by an old classic with new tricks. We are trying out a variant of Sejun Park’s 2013 Worlds team with some new additions in Volcorona and Stakataka. The third battle has a wacky team that I still don’t know what it is supposed to do or if it actually works.

This Video is owned by James Baek except music and character(s) which is credited below.
Footage was recorded for fair use, educational and entertainment purposes.

  2. DanDaDotman より:

    Shedinja > fake out pressure

  3. pau ingles より:

    So u dont pkhex/powersave?

  4. TheRazer456 より:

that last game. the opponent was trying to use role play and then entrainment so he could give shedinja sturdy so it would not go down to any attack. but you had the hail so he lost anyway lol

  5. Francesco Baldelli より:

    Very good video and Battle.

    Ps. Mega Abomasnow is Amazing^^

  6. Victor Matos より:

Why you don’t share the battle with PokeAlex ?? Because you loses? ?

  7. RaqdollTV より:

I use shedinja in my rain team to force fire type picks. Also added some shedinja’s counter’s counters (mega mawile against dark and garchomp against flying). I love that team and it’s so satisfying to win with it, you should try your own version of it james

  8. JohnnyCupcakes より:

Did u SR for the Stakataka?

  9. Meguroko Sylveon より:

    Shedinja Strategy Explained =
Z-Roleplay for obtaining sturdy, then entrainment Sturdy On to Shedinja With Googles. Or Soaking Shedinja + Safeguard & follow Me

    Rest of team Explained =
Smergle = Support moves like Follow me Fake Out Wide Guard & Misty Terrain or safeguard So that Shedinja don’t die to Burn or Nightmare
Floatzel = Either swift swim Soak (Probably Since Peliper) so Shedinja Become Water type. Or Water veil as ability (don’t get affected by burn & with a above setup)
    Peliper = Rain,Soak, U-Turn ,Scarf?
Lilligant Entrainment & Roleplay pokemon + sleep powder, Protect
Shedinja = Sweep Phantom Force For Breaking Protects ,Protect & 2 filler moves by preference
Togedemaru = Sturdy (Dumb should have been Lightning Rod) Would have been better & Using a better & tankier Supporting Sturdy Pokémon Like Carbink Get’s Trick room maybe Helping Hand?? & other support moves that help the strat.

    Quick summary = …
: Remove Peliper : Remove Flotzel : Add Scraf Fini (Misty terrain & Soak)
: Give Togedemaru Lightning Rod : Add better Sturdy support Like Carbink

I have Used Shedinja Before & Love Using it on my VGC teams but I never Commit this hard, I Rather Use it as Switch-in or with Soak or as a Win Con / I might add it to a team But not build a team around it. Still I know how to build a team around Shedinja better than the opponent in the video.

I Hope You Enjoyed My Shedinja Expertise & Suggestions for Team Improvements & feel Free to ask More Questions about Shedinja
If you wanna know more, Id be happy to Answer Those Questions.

So the strategy the shedinja user was probably using was to entrainment sturdy onto shedinja which is infact possible. (You can search up sturdy shedinja I was the first to really start it) IGN: snoop dogg

  11. Anthony Saelzer より:

Are you running 0 speed IV on Scrafty? If not, why not

  12. JoJo より:

Just got home. Finished my first college final today. Sitting here with some deep dish pizza, watching some great vgc content. Life is good

  13. TrainerWhit より:

    ?‍♀️?? WHAT.

  14. Mizu Productions より:

I think you might confusing the move Roleplay with Skill Swap. When the user uses Roleplay, it just copies the ability from the target. What I think what the opponent wanted to do is to copy sturdy while having some speed stats from the Z-Roleplay and while surviving from one hit. Also in the case with Shedinja, you can not Skill Swap with Shedinja is because it has Wonder Guard, and Wonder Guard is one the many other abilities that you can not Skill Swap (Multitype, Illusion, Stance Change, Schooling, Comatose, Shields Down, Disguise, RKS System, Battle Bond and Power Construct). It just down right fails if you do.

  15. 賴賴 LaiLai より:

  21. Mani De Maki より:

  22. Ed The Reverse Wolf より:

Why a Lonely Stakataka ? Why not an Adamant one ?

  23. whoeveriam0iam14222 より:

that last opponent was playing like a robot. had the game all in his head and just clicked the things that get Shedinja sturdy without looking at what the opponent was doing

  24. Nico Hogosha より:

Loving the thumbnails and titles :]

  25. Shira Anri より:

    Love this team ?
